its been winter wonderland here for the past few days! its so nice to pull open the curtains when u wake up to see a whole sea of white outside your window. so today me and dar decided to do abit of decorating. sprayed our windows with fake snowflakes, and put up a nice lighted moving deer on our lawn. the picture i have doesnt really do it justice. i'll post again when i have a better picture of it.

a week's countdown and im ditching winter wonderland for sunny humid sg weather. cant say its the best thing on earth, but being home definitely is! then its 3 whole weeks without Juicy and dar. it seems like this is the longest we're gonna be apart since we've been together. wow~~~ fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with my flights. im gonna miss them sooooo badly :(

after that its off to LA and SF!!! :D i cant freaking wait~~~~~~~~

it's valentines again. somehow this day has a tinge of bittersweet this year. i dont know how to explain it. but i comprehend its many thanks to being a thousand miles away from home. but still, its valentines nonetheless. so, love is (obviously) in the air~ every other hotspot here is filled with flowers, balloons and cards in all hues of red and pink. they're really quite hard to miss. and the flowers and balloons are relatively cheap here compared to back home! anyway, hope all you darlings are having a great vday/cny at home!

speaking of CNY. i just got back from a dinner at hub's colleague's place. we were all trying real hard to get into the CNY mood. but everything's just WRONG. we turn on the tv and its airing "MEET THE FOCKERS" or some random basketball match. now which part of that is CNY?! tsks. i used to hate all the shopping centres back home blasting all the horrible CNY songs. and all the RED THIS RED THAT. but now, you really learn how to appreciate all that here. thank god his colleagues boosted the CNY mood with all the gambling. LOL! but playing texas hold'em with USD isnt a very good idea. v stressful IMO. had a super shiok potluck dinner thanks to the neverending flow of curry chicken. its like sharks fin here. i baked brownies for dessert. my first attempt and it had good feedback! so im feeling quite happy about it~

had an emo moment this evening. when all the boys were busy gambling in the garage, i took a breather (thanks to the crazy amount of second hand smoke) in the backyard, all alone. the air was cold, and it was quiet. real quiet. it was nice to pull myself from all the gambling mayhem for a while. and then i looked up and saw a tons of stars flickering in the night sky. back home you dont get to see alot of them stars, probably cos of the packed builidngs or something. and you really dont seem to have the time, or place to have this sorta moments. but here, you can see them so clearly! its quite an amazing sight. so, i took in the beauty of all those little flickers of love, and flashes of memories just came pouring in. random memories, of alot of things, people and special moments. kinda like your whole life flashing in front of you. i smiled to myself and thought, what a lucky girl i am, to have so much love waiting for me back home. especially my family. that moment, I TRULY FELT LOVED.

went to have dinner with xiaohui and jas before i left for hk. did my nails too!

yes yes, i know. ive been awfully lazy with my blog updates lately. been up to my neck with stuff. first it was my citizenship which was too taxing for words. then planning my hk trip in between. also settling my dad's long term visit pass application, and my US visa application with RSAF simultaneously. multiple medical checkups, running to and fro the malaysia high comm, and then ica. im so sick of everything. not to mention i got to settle my resignation at work, PLUS plan a trip back to my hometown AND his hometown.

i didnt realise that it could get THIS tiring. and amidst all this my parents still think i have the time and energy to travel all the way back to jb to get a blood test done. RUBBISH.

i think the number of jabs i got in this year alone is getting increasingly alarming. where got people take so many jabs in a year one!!!! count with me...

just to get away from all the mad rush, hubs and i rewarded ourselves with a 90min body scrub and massage at MEDICAL AESTHETICS SPA @ palais renaissance yesterday. super relaxing. the body scrub smelled like bubble gum. and i like it that they weren't pushy about selling us packages. went shopping at ion later on. one of those days when you want to spend money, but got nothing for you to spend money on. everything i tried on looked like crap on me.

ate myself silly at 鼎泰豐, then ended the night with a movie, as usual.


honestly, nothing to rave about. very unrealistic at some points. and only like the last 1/3 of the movie was REALLY about the tsunami. the other 2/3 was character and story build-up. too draggy. but overall, still okay. watch-able.
ultimately, TIRED. very tired. * y a w n *

hubs is far away in koh samui with his friends while i rot away at home. hate hate hate this feeling. totally regret coming up with this decision to go on seperate holidays. this sucks.

my home has become a chalet over this weekend. while hubs is in samui, the parents are in aussie visiting the brother. so, im literally home alone.

fri night - had jas, karin, joyce, jas's mum over for steamboat. luckily jas loves me enough to accompany me for the night at home. i wont know how id fall asleep being all alone in the house.

sat night - will be having my darlings over for a sleepover later. once again, darn glad they are all free to come. make my nights that much easier to pass.

sun night - hubs insists his parents to come over and accompany me. but i dont wanna trouble them really. i know how hard it is for the older folks to get used to a new sleeping environment. seems like jas & gang wants to come back and steamboat round 2. i'll have to confirm with the parents-in-law.

sigh... basically this whole weekend is crap without hubs by my side. now i fully understand the meaning of "等到失去了才來珍惜". feeling awful and miserable all at the same time. everytime i sit around with nothing to do, i just wanna burst into tears.

wasnt easy saying goodbye to hubs fri morning. wasnt even morning, cos the sun wasnt even up. 5am and he was bidding me goodbye while i was half asleep. then i started crying. i dont know why. felt a huge sense of loss, i couldnt explain. after he left, i tried to persuade myself to go back to sleep. 2 hours later i woke up to get ready to work. then i saw the note he left me on my side table. cried again while i was reading. felt utterly miserable and depressed by then.

now im counting down the minutes and hours till i pick him up at the airport on monday. funny how weekends whizz pass all the time, and this weekend, just crawls and crawls its way to monday. my first time actually looking forward to the weekend flying by. my first time hoping monday is tomorrow. better yet, today.

the long weekend just whizzed past like nobody's business. feels like a monday today. a quick recap of the drama over the weekend.

FRIDAY NIGHT @ BUTTER FACTORY
with the colleagues. got ourselves an area at the VIP section at fash. not lovin the music, but totally loving our private lil space. NOT LOVING what came next. was trying to squeeze our way to bump via the dark lil connecting place between fash and bump VIP, when some retardedmoronicshouldjustgooutandgetbangbycar FUCKERRRRRRRRRRRR stole my hp. i seriously curse him eternal damnation. he even had the audacity to say hi to me, just to shift my attention away from my hp in my pocket. and i was like thinking to myself "who the fuck are you? why say hi to me?!" and then i felt my hp slide out of my pocket! wanted to chase after the fucker but the person in front of me who was pulling me through the crowd refused to let go, thinking i might get lost in the crowd. until i screamed "SOMEONE STOLE MY PHONE!!!" then he let go. LOL~ anyway by then the fucker was gone. and when i dialed my own number on a friend's phone, it was turned off. THE FUCKER VERY FAST RIGHT... WAIT ONE DAY YOU GET CAUGHT, AND THEN GET YOUR HANDS CHOPPED OFF!!! and then because u are such a loser, no girl wants to fuck you, and then you dont have hands to masturbate. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! seriously man, stealing in the VIP area??? u really dont deserve to be there then.

other than having my phone stolen, the rest of the night was pretty much FABULOUS!!! ;)

SATURDAY NIGHT @ CLARKE QUAY
its jas's 21st!!!!!!!!!! :) had dinner at hot stones, and then had haagen dasz fondue for dessert! complimentary brownie and ice cream for the bday girl~ yay!!! and then it was drinks at lunar. amazingly, it was actually quite fun that night! hahaha. could be the drinks. two consecutive nights of drinking is crazy for the liver and tummy. i gagged when jas brought over a whole tray of tequila shots. the smell literally made me feel drunk already. anyway, everyone was just mad happy and singing along to all the songs. and then cel had to go act like a little fan girl. LOL~ what came after we left lunar was seriously utterly HILARIOUS. jas, disgrace lah you! hahaha...
ended with supper at cck bus interchange there. i'll nv look at ban mian the same way again.

SUNDAY @ TOWN
woke up in the afternoon and went geylang for lunch with the parents and hubs. later on went to replace my sim card at singtel and then we went to watch WHITEOUT. it was okay. nothing to scream about. but cant say it sucks. went home after that, was a couch potato for a while. suppered with jas, karin and joyce afterwards. ya thanks to them, now the vasantham star song keeps ringing in my head. wahlau eh.

MONDAY @ HOME
slept till late. nuah-ed. coach potato-ed. with hubs. nuff said :)

i was just counting the months last night, and it hit me! i totally didnt realise the amount of time left for me to spend in singapore is so little! its july now, and come aug i'll be spending like a whole chunk of it in europe. and then sept, oct, and by mid nov i'll be submitting my resignation and getting ready to fly over to idaho for 2 whole long years! OMG~~~

i need to get ready webcam, skype, etc etc... if not im gonna be so bored~~~ yes the beginnings of my 'tai tai' life with hubs in idaho. but i foresee boredom with a capital B! have to find something to do there to make good use of my time. planned to source for good bridal studios to tailor myself a vera wang. hehe! was advised to make my customary wedding gowns in the US as its much more affordable there. then probably have my bridals taken there as well. was hopping around online doing a little research and found this young couple who takes really good shots! imagine having my bridals taken in anaheim disneyland or the grand canyon.... *dreamy look* sounds good huh? haha we'll see... too early to say...

anyway a bit more abt the youngrens! they seem like a really sweet husband and wife duo, totally passionate about what they do. and this passion really shows in the pictures they take. not sure how much they charge though, lets hope its within our budget. hee!

omg... idaho for 2 long years... i keep wondering how am i gonna survive?! no gfs in arms reach, no chicken rice, hokkien mee, bak kut teh... ARGH!!! scared, yet excited....

yak yak yak... early on a monday morning. its gonna be a long week ahead again, cos hubs is working night shift... AGAIN!!!! miserable much...

just another weekend with you

after work, on a saturday afternoon. nothing special, but still, enjoyable much :)

took a stroll down to ION to take a look. the exterior of the mall was gorgeous!
noticed that the new LV was open so we decided to take a look. luckily when we entered there was no queue at all. the boutique was huge! two storeys full of LV~

watched ICE AGE 3 later on. hilarious! didnt dissapoint at all.

after that was dinner with the family. and then lazed away my sunday. awesome!

bought myself a BB cream. after hearing all the rave about BB creams i decided to give it a shot. took the plunge when the salesgirl told me this was featured on 女人我最大. cant really go wrong with that. heh~
impulsive buys! NUM was having a minor sale for havaianas. and they were also giving away a free tuky tuky with each pair. so we got ourselves each a pair! :D colours were super duper limited. but now i can proclaim my slippers got bling! LOL~

hubs is on one-week-day, one-week-night shift rotation starting this week due to the h1n1 precautionary measures. so this week he starts work at 4plus and ends at 11plus or later. MISERABLE ME! so whenever he's on night shift week, im gonna see him only at night before i close my eyes and sleep. damnnnnnn!!!! this sucks big time lah!!!! WTF...

my long weekend!

saturday:

woke up late and went to starhub centre with my dad to sign up starhub maxonline surflite. terminated our mio. starhub's cheap - but of course cheap stuff are never good. it was a 1-to-1 cable modem. meaning if we wanted to surf wireless, we gotta go buy ourselves a wireless router. so, dad drove us to simlim to get the damn router. got a dlink router. fine. then i went on with dar to do more meaningful stuff.

dad dropped us off at chinatown and we went to SA and ASA to check out the tour packages for europe. first time in our 2 years and 5 mths of being together that we ended up in chinatown on a saturday. totally unheard of. so anyway, $4k for 14 days for italy, switzerland and france. worth it? we're still waiting to go dynasty travel and chan brothers before deciding. we're so damn slack with our tour search.

thereafter headed to our homeground - TOWN (duh!) and walked around orchard central. quite a few shops were open and i was quite amazed that they actually had an indoor wall-scaling thingy. COOL~ wanna try it someday. found out that there's gelare at orchard central. HAPPINESS!!! now tues half-priced waffles are within reach of office!!!

chanced upon a certain HEAVEN'S LOFT at OC and settled dinner there. the food is actually quite heavenly (pun intended)! but dar wasnt too impressed i duno why. *limited pics in the phone as forgetful me forgot the camera* loved the baby back ribs!!!

finally ended our day with our dosage of TRANSFORMERS!!!! awesome stuff... nuff said.

sunday:

dar and i set out to meet mab and jas for the 超越星光 auditions at kallang leisure park. no, i wasnt auditioning... was there to help root for dean and keely. some of the finalists were quite cmi. not gonna name people. carrie yeo was good, but wasnt one of the chosen 3 to head to taiwan for the pk. quite disappointing. ohyes, karin, im waiting for another round of baked potatos!!! very yummy...!!!

after that headed to jas's house to help with some moving. almost broke our backs. haha! rewarded ourselves with really good dinner at newton. the stingray and lala was awesome! thanks for the dinner treat, fai sisters! :D

monday:

woke up and got my ass dragged to the nearby clinic for my cervical cancer vaccination that ive been putting off. pain!!! and its a 3-dose vaccine. so one down, two to go...

went home for a short nap before heading to the airport to pick up my brother. (forgot to bring a whole bottle of dettol to disinfect him!)

so now, after dinner, home and blogging a whole chunk of nothingness.
