im missing the tranquility and quietness you find in the subways of tokyo.

picture this. its early in the morning and ure on ur way to work, feeling sluggish and tired. you cant wait for the train/bus to come cos u just want to find a seat, plop urself down and sleep ur way to the office. ure drifting off to dreamland, hovering between asleep and awake. ure about to fall into a very comfortable deep sleep. the next moment, ure jolted awake from your slumber by some inconsiderate freak's mobile phone whose ringing tone is just some loud blast of incoherant high-pitched noise. then u feel your heart pounding from the shock. and cos ure so tired u try to go back to sleep. to no avail, cos now the moron is just blabbering away on the phone at a volume that you cant ignore. try as you might, sleep is not an option anymore, cos the occasional loud laughter will still jolt u awake again. and you go to work a tired irritated person.

which brings me to my point.

firstly, why are there these stupid pple whose ringtones are so darned scary!!! its not some song, its not some tone, its just a SUDDEN OUTBURST of noise that just makes u jump!!! have some courtesy for the weak-hearted pls.

secondly, you KNOW there are pple on the same public transport as u trying to catch a bit of shut-eye, then pls have the courtesy to speak at a lower volume and not EXCLAIM loudly like its your grandfather's bus/train!! no, i dont need to know wats so exciting about your life that you have to interfere my sleep. and no, i dont want to know how pathetic your life is either. nitwits!

thirdly, earphones are for you to listen your noisemusic without disturbing the rest as not everyone will appreciate your TASTE IN MUSIC. so there's this group of pple who either do not know the existance of earphones, or simply dont bother. imbeciles who blast music on their handphones thinking their choice of music is sooooooo wonderful that the rest of the whole world would want to listen as well. these are the self-indulgent pricks im dying to give a tight slap to. one of these days, i think i'll just walk up to them, crush their handphones and shove it up their asses, really.


oh yes, for those of you who might not know, japanese have a habit to turn their mobiles to silent in the subways so that everyone can enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. and if they have to talk on their mobiles, they practically WHISPER. conversations on the train is also kept to a minimal. and when i was in lovely taiwan, i was shocked to see that EVERYONE queues to enter the train. people getting off have no problem at all. they dont have to squeeze their way out whilst the other group is pushing their way in. (ie. HERE)

evidently, i had a bad morning in the bus.

my computer at home is waaaaaaaay fucked. i need a new desktop. i want my NEC powermate! fuck lar i shldve just got myself a set at the IT fair. i hate my indecisiveness sometimes. or maybe i shld just get myself a new cpu instead cos my monitor and speakers are just working fine. argh! ive nvr had so many computer problems at one time before. both WORK and HOME computers are fucked. fucked to the core. IT shopping this weekend!!!!! *grumbles*

just realised, im turning 23 in less than a month. hooboy! im old as a hag. every time of this year, i shall whine abt how i cant remain forever 21. although i dont look my age, its really taking a toil on me mentally. i get so tired easily! its quite unbelievable, considering the kind of energy i had in my younger days. anyways ive got a chalet at costa sands sentosa to celebrate my turning old another year. didnt manage to get the bigass huge NSRCC resort bungalow i had in mind, so shall make do. i wonder wat the boyfriend is getting me???? i heard its quite a big surprise! *grins*

oh yes, our dear carol is turning a year older (and still as pretty la!) in 4 days time! and we're going clubbing. *stones* well, notice there isnt as much excitement compared to a girls' night out 3 years ago. i duno how long we'll last this time round. i hope we manage to make it pass 1am at least. or my frailing old body might fail me, and we go home at 12am. i seriously hope not.

me and dar had lunch at Shoduko - this new Jap pasta and pizza place in citylink. its located up near thai express, the far right of the escalator. its like waraku, but BETTER!

i was amazed to find that the food was really smth to scream about! we ordered a creamy mushroom soup and this fried chicken for sides. the fried chicken was wrapped in a crispy batter mixed with seaweed bits, DELIGHTFUL! and the mains were really amazing. my creamy cod roe carbonara was super yummy! a very generous serving of cod roe mixed in a creamy yet not 'jer-lat' carbonara sauce, with a very runny egg to top it off!! i kept swirling the egg on my plate and even attempted to take a video, until dar stopped me. lol. he had the tako and chicken wafu, which wasnt too bad too! now i wanna go back to try the pizzas cos the pictures were just oh-so-tempting! super thin crispy crusts with very special toppings. to die for, indeed.

i just had my teeth checked and cleaned at the horrifying dentist. turns out, not so horrifying. my teeth are in good shape except for a certain "great wall" made up of tar at the bottom inner row. so now i am entrusted a task by my dentist: to teach my boyfriend how to brush his teeth. LOL. apparently he's teeth are in terrible shape. well, much worse than me, considering my cleaning time took half of his. *bursts out in laughter*

signed up at viwawa and addicted to playing Big 2 aka 'dai dee' online. met a dork who caused me a major minus of gold and exp. next player 1 last card to game and the idiot went to throw a single card 4. major fucktard.

received a call this morning to uppity-up my spirits! finally my patience paid off. am going for a 'session' this wednesday. hopefully my writing skills arent too lousy cos they definitely need some polishing. now gotta go read up on press releases. stressed.

the teeth-cleaning wasnt so great for dar. we have absolutely no idea why, but part of his gums keep bleeding non stop! even when it isnt agitated. every few hours it'll start bleeding. got me so worried i couldnt sleep properly last night. i was so afraid he will start bleeding in his sleep, which he did!!! luckily he woke up in time to find out, if not he couldve just bled himself to death man. *choy!!* went back to the same dentist, dentist said could be weak gums or smth, and to give them a night or so to rest. but this morning, bleeding continued. so dar went to consult the clinic doc. turns out, doc says nothing's wrong too. omg so freaky. so he just applied some cream on dar's gums to stop the bleeding. hopefully everythings gonna be okay.

NO MORE!!! *wails* sigh, i dont even know where he dropped. i backtracked but i didnt catch any glimpse of him on the ground. must be some greedy dodo picked him up. and guess what!!! the swarovski hp chain that dar gave me for our 1st month was attached to it!!! OMGGGGGG!!!!!

okays on to serious stuff, my career. ive got 2 paths in front of me now. and im in a total dilemma. i need serious counselling.

path no. 1
ive got a job placed on a platter in front of me. to take up a position of an RO in my current bank. continue serving rich customers and make them happy. also gives me alot of deskbound paperwork like account openings and misc stuff my RM passes to me. mundane. boring. feel like crap. yet comes with a fat paycheck.

path no. 2
continue aimlessly searching for my career-of-choice (PR, marketing, guest relations, adverts & promos) in my industry-of-choice (entertainment, media, advert, hospitality) and get stuck in my current sucky job till i succeed. and god knows when will i succeed. my job exp in that area is NIL. the only advantage i have is probably my diploma and my degree, which up till now, seems not v handy without the job exp.

so now, im at the crossroads of my career. if i choose path no. 1 then i'll be stuck in that path for good. i cant apply for a PR or marketing job without the employer asking me "why are you in a bank when your interest is in PR/marketing?" and to that question, right now i hav the liberty of replying "i needed an office hour job to accomodate my night classes." but after a year in the bank, i dont think that excuse applies. so if i wanna steer myself back towards the path no. 2, nows the best and only chance.

so how now??? im at a loss.

back to work after a day's off. (cue crickets noise)

had a very satisfactory high tea buffet at Carousel @ Royal Plaza on Scotts ytd afternoon. $25++ per pax for a full array of munchies. i was attacking the salmon sashimi nonstop. lol. and so was everyone else. nasi lemak was not too bad, but i ate a little only cos i dont want to feel full after stuffing myself with rice. kebab was also good, but also one dish that depletes so damn quickly, u hav to wait. me dar and my mum stuffed ourselves to the brim we couldnt even make space for dinner at all. no pictures cos i was busy eating and eating. LOL.

we were so stuffed and lazy we didnt wanna go suntec to squeeze with gazillions more pple at IT fair. so me and dar went shopping around and then caught The Leap Years later in the evening. it was nice. not fantastic, but bittersweet nice. i didnt expect to cry, but yea i did. it was just so touching at one point. not gonna say it cos i dont wanna spoil it for pple who might wanna catch it. the girl next to me was WEEPING away while i heard sobs and sniffs arnd the theatre. tissue paper was strewn all over the floor and seats when i was walking out too. lol. and Ananda Everingham is so droolsome!!! haha he reminds me of orlando bloom somehow. and wong lilin, still gorgeous as ever. one raintree production that deserves a round of applause.

its just so cute to see the 2 of them together, esp in their younger days. how he 'accidentally' holds her hand in the crowd (reminds me of someone who tried the same stunt *winks*) and how they are so madly attracted to each other. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. now i might wanna get the book to read. hee.

half day tmr, but so many things to do! wanna go IT fair, wanna go for high tea buffet at Carousel, wanna go catch movies, wanna go ktv. howhowhow??? i'm thinking of taking a whole day off tmr, but its sucha hassle sometimes. and its really myself to blame cos i shldve been more decisive with my off days. and now to tell my boss i wanna take a whole day instead of a half day off tmr, she's gonna give me THAT face again. dont wanna see THAT face again. tsks.

my job is getting mundane and im becoming so jaded jaded jaded jaded jaded jaded...

i need a new job to do justice to my degree. and maybe im thinking of getting another BA in Hospitality just to up my chances in getting a job in that industry. think its also cos i suddenly missed being a student. haha! but if i wanna study again i might think of taking a full time course instead of a part time, cos i wanna feel young and vibrant again!!!! LOL. then i'll probably live off my father again for the time being. *grins*

NATAS was overcrowded!!! initially i thought that since its held at the expo, and not the suntec convention centre, the crowd will be more dispersed as it is more spacious. I WAS WRONG!! the queue to enter the hall to the ticket counter was from one end of expo to the other!!! i was mortified. the queue would mean i that i would hav to stand for another 1-2 hrs!!! i was totally NOT prepared to do that just to go to some NATAS fair. THENNN!!! my dar decided to pull an 'auntie stunt' without my knowledge. he just held me by the hand and led me towards the start of the queue, and then pretended to lose his way!!! i was freaking out by then cos i afraid that someone would start screaming from the back. but in the end, he managed to mingle us into the crowd and then ease our way into the start of the queue. HAHA!! auntified lah!!

it was so tempting to go on a looooooong vacation while seeing all the different booths of all the beautiful countries. we just jostled arnd with the crowd and finally settled down at this booth called Fascinating Holidays. they seemed to concentrate more on holiday and relaxing resorts (eg Banyan Tree and Club Med) so it was wat we were looking for. initially we browsed at the rates for maldives. but in the end we decided to stick to the plan and leave maldives for a later date cos we wanted maldives to be PERFECT. meaning, we want to stay in the luxury resorts with our water villas on stilts!!! its the sea at ur doorstep, literally!!! so, we decided on thailand beaches. oh yes, if u guys didnt know, tiger airways is the only direct flight to krabi. and they cease flights to krabi in end march. so, flying to krabi will be a hastle. so we chose the easier route to Koh Samui. and after lots of persuasion, headache and indecisiveness, we finally made our booking!!!

ME? i was just looking for a place to hide whilst trying not to strangle him.

because we took alot of information and magazines from Royal Carribean and Club Med etc, our plastic carrier was getting out of shape and mangled. so he wanted the nicer AIG carrier we saw other pple holding. so we went on a 'AIG CARRIER SEARCH'. i was dragged arnd the whole hall in search of that nonsense carrier. after wat seemed like hours, we almost gave up, until he caught sight of the AIG promoters at the entrace. in the most auntie manner u can imagine, he went up to one of them and asked "can i have one of those bags pls??" complete the look with the glimmering eyes okay. omg i wanted the ground to open up and eat me. and because all the bags were given away, we had to wait for the new batch to arrive. then, he went to ask ANOTHER promoter, and amazingly, he went to their booth, and pulled out another folded bag, and secretly gave it to my auntified boyfriend. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. i wanted to get out of there asap.

but wat can i say, i guess i still love my auntified boyfriend alot!! love him enough to be auntie with him, and love him enough to allow him be auntie. haha he's just so silly sometimes.

i already warned him, i WILL blog abt this. HAHA!!
